Every day individuals are admitted to intensive care units.
Hospitals provide for the medical needs of the patient while family members are faced with a situation they are unprepared for and thrust into without warning.

Comfort In Crisis is a faith-based organization comforting the families
of those who have been admitted to an intensive care unit for hours or days.

Families are personally given a gift bag with many personal care/hygiene items, phone cards or local restaurant gift cards, and other necessities for their situation, plus phone numbers of local clergy and a list of other local resources they might potentially have need of.

Since we started in 2001, Comfort In Crisis volunteers have personally given thousands of gift bags to families in need at Rochester area hospitals,
along with an offer of prayer with the family each time.
(In all our years, only one family has ever turned down that offer.)

We welcome you to contact us for volunteer opportunities (bag-prepping or delivery or materials donations) or to just join the group and help us spread awareness and garner further support.

Our board of directors and dedicated volunteers thank you for your interest
in this caring and uplifting ministry that has brought timely comfort to
thousands of area families, and is in the process of planting satellite groups
in Buffalo, Syracuse and beyond.
